To qualify to do your trade test, you will need the following:

1. Grade 12 – Maths & Science with proof of training OR
2. Proof of training and a minimum of 5 years experience in the industry – this will need to be supported by a reference letter from your employer stating your daily duties.

We will also need the following:

• Clear original certified copy of Identity Document
• Clear original certified copy of Educational Qualification(s)
• Clear service letter on a company letter head (with company registration number) and stamp as proof of experience of applicant with detailed daily duties, start date and signed off by a duly authorized person.

Remember: When selecting your Trade Test Centre, select Winters Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning.  

The process to get your serial number from MerSeta is a lengthy one, and can take anything from 1 to 6 months, depending on the amount of applications they receive.
