The South African Qualification and Certification Committee for Gas (SAQCC Gas) is mandated by the Department of Labour to ensure all gas practitioners are trained, certified and registered under the Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER)
Course duration: 5 Days
Minimum Requirement:
Category A: Level 2, In apprenticeship, operator, handlers
Category B: Qualified Refrigeration Mechanic / Artisan
- The course covers Knowledge of the OHS Act, P.E.R. SANS 10147, Workshop Safety & PPE.
- Practical assessments consists of draining oil from the system, simulating charging refrigerant into the system & BA Set/Chemical suit exercises.
- The candidate must complete both the theory and practical components to be certified as competent. The candidate must complete a portfolio of evidence & a written test to provide proof of competency.
- A certificate of competency will be issued on successful completion which must accompany your application with SAQCC Gas/SARACCA.
- Please note that the registration process is only complete once you have submitted your application to SAQCC Gas & received your card.
The following must accompany the student to register with SARACCA:
- 2 colour identity photos
- A certified copy of Identity Document
- Copies of relevant Certificates/Qualifications

Course duration: 2 Days
Minimum Requirement:
Valid or expired SARACCA Safe Handling License (License Card should not be expired longer that 3 months)

This course enables a successful candidate to re-register to comply with the legal requirements of the OHS Act. Pressure Equipment Regulation (Clause 17-18) July 2009 No. 85 of 1993.

This course, required by law enables persons to register as an authorised person in the relevant categories with SARACCA.
On successful completion of the course the candidate have to apply for the License Card via SARACCA 2 colour id photos, certified copy of id, certified copy of certificate from Winters Business Enterprise and Trade Test Certificate (if applicable) should be attached to the application / emailed to SARACCA.
On successful completion of the course if the candidate does not apply for the Safe Handling Card within 3 months from successful completion of course – the candidate will have to redo the training.
